James Clyde Brooks, 96, of Radford, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2020. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Radford and retired from the Radford Army Ammunitions Plant. He was a U. S. Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lora Brooks; his wife, Betty L. Brooks; and his brother, Clifford Dennis Brooks.
Survivors include a sister, Esther Caroline Brooks; nephews Tracy Brooks, Dennis Brooks and Mike Drummond; nieces Debra Hite and Lora Drummond; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Mar. 4, 2020, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Dr. Paul Lane officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 215 Third Avenue, Radford, VA 24141.
The Brooks family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
