NRV Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day today
Residents served by the New River Resource Authority are invited to participate in the region’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection event from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. April 8 at the Radford University Dedmon Center Parking Lot Z (Riverside). Questions regarding the types of materials accepted should be directed to your locality. No commercial waste or commercial vehicles will be accepted as household hazardous waste. Instead, they will be accepted for document shredding and electronic waste. The New River Resource Authority will be accepting plastic bags and a Goodwill container will be on-site.
RU fraternity presents musical benefit concert Sunday
On Sunday at 2 p.m., the Alpha Zeta chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon will present a musical benefit for NRV Project Linus. It will be held at Grove UMC.
Grove United Methodist Church hosts Easter celebration April 14
The Grove United Methodist Church is hosting an Easter celebration for all ages beginning at 5 p.m. April 14. The event is open to the public and will be held at 1020 Tyler Ave. in Radford. A meal will be provided.

City partnership offers free tax services
Radford City Commissioner of the Revenue, Cathy Flinchum, has partnered with New River Community Action to provide free income tax services to the community.
The office staff is now IRS certified and enrolled in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. The program offers free tax assistance to people with an income level of $65,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own returns.
