Christiansburg High School is in search of a new softball coach.
Robin Boyd announced on social media late last week that it was with mixed emotions he has decided to step down from the program.
“After the season ended, I took the time to talk with my family, and it is with mixed emotions that I’ve decided to step down as the CHS Varsity Softball coach,” he said. “It is time for me focus on the ones that mean the most to me.”
Boyd has served as the head coach for the past two years and another six as an assistant.
“Over the past eight years at CHS, I’ve been blessed to coach some incredible young ladies,” Boyd said. “They have and will do great things outside of softball, which is really what it is all about.
“As I’ve always told my players; be a good person first and treat people the way you want to be treated. If you do that, you’ll be a great teammate and a great person.”
Christiansburg finished 12-9 this past season, and Boyd has compiled a 27-15 overall record in his time at the helm of program, leading them to back-to-back appearances in the Class 3 regional playoffs.
A search for his replacement will being almost immediately.
