Regional chorus Blue Ridge Vocal Connection is hosting its third annual one-day vocal skills workshop, Blue Ridge Choral Connection, on Saturday, Mar. 14, 2026.
This year’s keynote speaker is returning world-class New York City vocal coach Justin Stoney. “If you’ve never heard of him, watch one of his 200+ vocal technique YouTube videos,” said organizers. “You’ll want to register as soon as you see the first one!”
Justin will kick off the workshop with a warmup and then work with individual singers one-on-one throughout the day. Admission is $35 per person. Children 12 and under are eligible for a discount. Details, including workshop subjects, a schedule, and music PDF’s, plus and a link to tickets are at blueridgevocalconnection.com.
Other sessions will feature small-group rehearsals of original choral arrangements, introductory music reading, beginning music theory, directing, etc. The highlight will be the closing concert where participants will entertain each other with music learned during the day and join in an all-voices performance of The Water is Wide & an original choral medley called Fantasie on Johnny Comes Marching Home incorporating Tenting on the Old Campground and The Battle Hymn of the Republic.
The workshop will be held at Northside Presbyterian Church, 1017 Progress St., NW, Blacksburg.
