The announcement encourages guests to “Bring your bike!”
All last year, local breweries, bike shops, t-shirt sales, restaurants, a summer film festival and online crowd-funding raised tens of thousands of dollars to support the design and building of the park.
The park has been on the town’s list for several years seeing the Huckleberry Trail and the skills park as a path to making Blacksburg a mountain biking mecca.
Blacksburg sits on the edge of Jefferson National Forest and Pandapas Pond Recreational Area that has miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
For the opening, park at Heritage Park, 2701 Meadowbrook Dr. The event will be across the street.
