Emily Rose Bittinger, 35, of Pilot, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, after a three-year struggle with atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome.
Emily is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Bittinger; children, Jakob and Lauren; mother, Susan King (Lon Williams) of Salem; father, Doug Conner (Sandra Conner) of Radford; mother-in-law, Diane Bittinger of Pilot; sisters, Amara and Rowan; grandmother, Cleo Rhymer; special aunt, Janet King; as well as other extended family and friends.
Emily Rose was a brave, caring and positive child from her beginning until her end. She loved her family and friends deeply and passionately. She fought a brave fight and never complained about being sick. Her children were the source of her strength. No words can describe how much she will be missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Harry McCoy and all the nurses on the second floor at Lewis Gale Montgomery for their love and support. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, from noon – 2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel, with Pastor Junior Bentley officiating.
