Robert Wayne Bishop, 69, of Floyd passed away, Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at UVA Medical Center.
He was born in Christiansburg, Virginia on Dec. 2, 1947 to the late Jacob Abraham and Elizabeth (Nellie) Flinchum Bishop. He was also preceded by his brother, John Bishop.
Wayne was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Alice F. Bishop, sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Chandra Lutz, Scott and Misty Lutz, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Don Adkins, brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Marcie Bishop, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his special companion, Rusty.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Brother Roger Thomas officiating. Interment followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family received friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
