Billy Ray McCoy, 67, of Ripplemead, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 30, 1954, to the late Carl Christy and Opal Mae Duncan McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean McCoy, and his brother, Larry W. McCoy.
He is survived by his brothers, Alvin A. McCoy (Pat), Charles R. McCoy (Tanya), a sister, Linda M. Smith,a son, Jacob L. Dowdy, a grandson, Austin D. Dowdy, sisters-in-law Patricia McCoy, Linda Cook, and Loretta Farley, and a special friend, Margaret Nester.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, in the Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family received friends Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
