John Alexander “Bingo” Batten, Sr., 70, of Radford, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020.
He was retired from Virginia Tech where he was a housekeeping manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beryl Batten, and in January by his wife of 34 years, Catherine S. Batten.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Mike Bishop of Riner, Tina Ellison of Roanoke, and Debbie and Randy Bales of Radford; sons Jason B. Batten of Radford, John A. Batten, Jr., of Christiansburg and Kenneth R. Stoots, Jr., of Belspring; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
The family received friends on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
Entombment was on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin.
