Joanie J. Barker, 47, of Christiansburg died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Barker. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Darryl Barker; daughter, LeeAnn Barker; son, Jacob Barker; three precious grandchildren, Anthony, Jaidan, Elizabeth; father, Bill Jones; mother, Betty McMahan; sisters, Angie Jones, Tina Collins; brother, Billy Jones; stepsister, Joy McMahan; numerous other family members. Joanie enjoyed working for the Salvation Army where she assisted many in the community. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josh Graham and Pastor Lee Sarver officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joanie Barker GoFundMe page or to her husband to offset expenses.
