Calling actors, singers, and dancers of all ages – mixed adult and youth cast
Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to chocolate-covered life in an upcoming production of “Willy Wonka,”and auditions ar coming upthis Sunday and Monday.
Auditions are set for Sunday, Aug. 18 from 3-5 p.m. at the Christiansburg Public Library and Monday, Aug. 19 from 6-8 p.m. on the Village Center Stage, 2387 Warm Hearth Drive, Blacksburg.
The first hour of auditions is for vocals and monologues. The second hour is for dance and cold readings from the show. Although age ranges are listing with the character descriptions do not let this limit you. We can age up and age down many characters in this show. Willy Wonka is an adult role only.
Those auditioning should prepare one – two minutes of a Broadway or pop song to be sung acapella; prepare a monologue (30-60 seconds), can be read, but memorized is a bonus; be prepared to cold read sides from the show; come prepared to dance in comfortable clothes you can move in and list all work/date/school conflicts on your audition form.
