RADFORD – The Radford Parks and Recreation Department is presenting the first of its free concert series at the Bisset Park gazebo this Tuesday, July 9, from 7 -8 p.m.
The evening features American Roots, a Blacksburg-based guitar and harmony-vocal band that has been performing in southwest Virginia area for 30 years.
The Crooked Road artists present a repertoire of Americana music from the “Carter Family to Gershwin,” but working and playing to preserve the music beloved by people of the southern Appalachians, they also enjoy diverse genres presenting an evening that will include traditional ballads, country blues, early country, tin-pan alley toe tappers, swing tunes, hot fiddle tunes (on guitar), and a style called “folkgrass,” that plays folk tunes at a bluegrass tempo.
The Concerts at the Gazebo series are held weekly each Tuesday through August 6.
“Grab a chair or blanket and head on down to the Gazebo at Bisset Park for a beautiful, relaxing evening of great entertainment,” reads information released by concert organizers.

“Cadillac Ranch Band will close our 2019 Concert Series with one and a half hours of great entertainment,” state organizers.
