Amelia Chavez Linkous, age 78, of Blacksburg died, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at her home. She was born in Santa Maria, Texas on June 18, 1938 to the late Manuel and Saturnina Diaz Chavez.
She is also preceded in death by two daughters, Jennifer Linkous and Deborah Price Snell; sisters, Lucila Mendez and Mar
y Chavez; brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Mary Chavez, Woody and Helen Linkous and Jackie Linkous.
Amelia retired from Hubble Lighting with 22 years of service and fought a courageous battle with cancer for 23 years.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Linkous of Blacksburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Ron Kenyon of Blacksburg, Stephanie and Raymond Bishop of Christiansburg; son-in-law, Donald Snell of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer Belote (Miguel), Emily Belote, Jacob Belote, Sr. (Allie), Courtney Snell and Zachary Snell; great-grandchildren, Aylah, Rylan, J.J.; brothers, Julian Chavez of Harlingen, Texas and Alfredo Chavez of Mesquite, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen Linkous, Lonzie and Wilda Linkous, Bernard and Ellen Linkous; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends and family, Delia and Albert Henn, Betty Price, Sandra Beasley, James Lincoln, Brenda Henegar, Shirley and Woodrow Price and Pat.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the New River Valley Community Church with the Pastor Mike Neuse officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg.
