Lord Botetourt High School band member Heather Moeller (center) was on the clarinet Saturday afternoon when 77 members of the 2018 All-County Band performed in the LBHS gym. Performers from LBHS, James River High School and Central Academy Middle School took part in the concert that was directed by guest conductor Dr. Wayne Gallops (below), the Director of University Bands and Instrumental Music at Radford University. Gallops worked with the students Friday to prepare for the concert that family and friends enjoyed. Selections included “Amparito Roca” by Jamie Texidor, “Sacred Suite” by Brant Karrick and “Acrostic Song” by David del Tredici. The school bands are directed by Christopher Caldwell and Kevin English. This was the second year for the schools have had an All-County Band performance.
