George Charles Andrew Alexander, 78, of Radford, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017. He was retired from Lynchburg Foundry and a U. S. Air Force veteran.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Muriel and Lillie Alexander; his wife, Anna Marie Paige Alexander; and brothers and sisters, Billie C. Alexander, Roland H. Alexander, Serena May Twyman, Helen Alexander, Clarence Alexander, Nettie Conner, Tyree Alexander, Doug Delaney and Joe Delaney.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Lamont and Rachel Alexander of Richmond; grandsons, Justin and Brandon Alexander; granddaughter and her husband, Dr. Tisha Claytor Hardy and Angelo of Virginia Beach; great-grandsons, Brendan Claytor Butler and Xavier Claytor Hardy; sisters-in-law, Queen Alexander and Katherine Delaney, both of Radford, and Iris Carr of Farmville; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Whitfield Paige, Jr. and Ned and Vivian Paige of Deltona, Fla.; devoted friend, Rita Lewis of Radford; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home, 120 West Main St. in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. with Rev. Charles Charlton officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin with members of VFW Post #776 conducting military graveside rites.

The Alexander family requests that cards and condolences be sent to Mullins Funeral Home, PO Bo 3544, Radford, Virginia 24143.
