On May 11, 2019, Jill Annette Albert, 58, passed away peacefully. She was born in Montgomery County on September 5, 1960, to her loving parents, the late Homer and Edith Albert. She grew up and lived in McCoy, VA and moved to Blacksburg the last few years of her life. Jill retired from Virginia Tech after 30 years of service in the Department of Agriculture and Applied Economics. Jill was a member of Centennial Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, where she served as the music director and the church clerk for many years. She loved music, animals (especially Prince and Rusty), her faithful friends, and mostly her family, who loved her even more. Jill is survived by her sister and brother-in- law, Judy and John Scott, her brother and sister-in-law, William and Karen Albert, her niece Karen Scott Hudson and husband Robby Hudson, and her two nephews, JRob and Scott Hudson. Funeral services will be conducted at Centennial Christian Church today, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Steve Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Centennial Christian Church Cemetery fund.
