Adam Murphy, a software developer, has officially launched his campaign for the Ninth Congressional District.
Murphy will face Rep. Morgan Griffith in the upcoming election.
“We are passionate about representing the people of Southwest Virginia and tackling the challenges we face every day as the American people,” Murphy said via email. “The system is rigged against the average American, and they aren’t upholding their end of the deal to everyday Americans. We aim to break that stranglehold and claim a new future, without compromise that firmly places the American people first.”
“I am committed to restoring that deal and helping deliver a system that allows us all a fair shot to get ahead,” he continued. “In order to build the 21st Century Deal, there are certain pillars that we are committed to: universal healthcare (currently best plan is Medicare for All), a living wage that helps small business with certain level of employees and profit maintain it and is tied to a cycle with census to ensure it remains always a living wage, and an American economic boom through
energy independence and massive infrastructure projects.”
