BLACKSBURG – Voters in District 41 will get a chance to hear from the candidates for House of Delegates during a public candidate forum Wednesday, Sept. 24.
AARP Virginia will host a candidate forum for the 41st House of Delegates District race, featuring Republican nominee Delegate Chris Obenshain and Democratic nominee Lily Franklin. It will take place 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Blacksburg Community Center, 725 Patrick Henry Dr., Blacksburg.
The event offers district residents an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates on issues that matter most to them. The format is not a debate; candidates will be questioned separately by a volunteer moderator from AARP Virginia. Audience members must submit questions in advance to be considered by the moderator. Questions can be submitted during registration at https://events.aarp.org/blacksburgforum. Questions will not be accepted during the forum.

Both candidates will be asked the same questions, with the order determined by a coin toss. Each will have 30 to 45 minutes to respond to the series of questions. The forum will maintain a civil tone, with no direct audience questioning or back-and-forth between candidates.
The event is open to the press and free to the public. AARP membership is not required to attend, but registration is required at https://events.aarp.org/blacksburgforum.
