Dear Editor:
Almost everyone can recall a favorite teacher who left an indelible mark on their lives. But it is an unfortunate truism that the average teacher is just that – average. All the more, then, that exceptional educators in the mold of Bradley Kraft and Brian Kitts should be highly valued.
Another truism is that once you get rid of your best, you are left with only the rest. The secretive deliberations that led to the purging of these two individuals from Blacksburg High School are veiled, but their outcome is plain for all to see: by their actions, Montgomery County Public Schools have performed a disservice for itself, for our community, and worst of all, for our students.
