RADFORD – A program that helps Radford families purchase school clothes for their children assisted nearly 300 children this year.

“Radford Clothing Bank’s “August Kids 2025” project was a big success,” said one of  August Kids coordinators, Martha Kincaid. “The week before school started, the Radford Clothing Bank was able to present 130 families with vouchers for new clothing from the Radford Walmart.”

Kincaid says it takes many factors to make the program a success. Along with Kincaid, Marcy Harless and Mary Ann Semones are also coordinators and they have about 30 volunteers who help make it happen.

“This would not have been possible without support from the NRV community, local churches, local and national grants, as well as a multitude of volunteers,” she said. “Whether you supported the project financially, waited on clients at Walmart, or served in one of the many roles on August Kids Day, the 292 children who benefitted from the program thank you.”
