Vicki Baker, 62, of Christiansburg, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Baker, and her father, Jack Gray.
She was a member of Tree of Life Fellowship and Belmont II Ruritan Club. Vicki worked at the School of Education at Virginia Tech for over 17 years. She enjoyed reading, the beach, gardening in her flowers, music, and dancing. Vicki had a generous heart and smile for everyone she met, and she never let her smile fade no matter what she faced.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alyce Baker and Matthew Schweighart; mother, Sylvia Gray; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Karey Gray; and nephew, Zachary Wayne Gray.
The family hosted a drop- in Celebration of Life on Sunday, Aug. 10. The celebration was held inside the South Tower of Lane Stadium in the South Club, with a tribute to Vicki followed by a time for sharing memories.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Tree of Life Fellowship, 350 Stafford Dr. Christiansburg, VA 24073; Belmont II Ruritan Club, 725 Atkinson Rd., Christiansburg, VA 24073; or provide snacks to the Blue Ridge Cancer Center for patients.
