Frankie Lee Graves, 80, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, July 17, 2025, at his home. He was born in Blacksburg Dec. 9, 1944. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Graves Poe, and his brothers, Ronnie and Jack Graves.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Frank retired as a sergeant with the Christiansburg Police Department after 27 years of service. Frank was also a life member of the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, having served as captain.
He is survived by his daughters, Amanda “Mandy” Graves Lawson and Doris Ann Graves Schack; son, Joseph “Joe” Graves; grandchildren, Landon Lawson, Clara Schack-Dowdy (Austin), Gabrielle Schack; great-grandchildren, Owen and Rylan; aunts, Ann Light and Margaret Cochran; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 21, 2025 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Neal Turner and Ron Lemons officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family received friends prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, 100 East Main St., Christiansburg, VA 24073, and/or the Christiansburg Police Department, 10 East Main St., Christiansburg, VA 24073.
