Johnny Douglas Worrell, Sr., 80, of Radford, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank James and Mary Sue Bowman Worrell; and his siblings, Wayne Worrell, Pete Worrell, Clara Lewis, Nancy Hopkins, Mickey Quesenberry and Brenda Worrell.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Worrell, Jr. (Lisa), Jimmy Worrell (Angie), and Jeff Worrell (Christina); grandchildren and their spouses, Paige Dripps (Jeremy), Jeremy Worrell, Whitney Hunt (Jordan), Jamie Worrell (Laura), Johnny Worrell and Jocelyn Worrell; great grandchildren, Amelia Sweet, Camden Sweet and others; special niece, Carolyn Phillips; and many other family members and friends.
He was an avid fisherman, with many citation catches during his lifetime, and he enjoyed hunting. His family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them any chance that he got. Even in his later stages of life, he had many friends who he loved to visit and spend time with. He was always on the go. He passed peacefully, with his family by his bedside. He will be dearly missed and we cannot wait to see him again.
Per his request, a memorial service will be held at a later date with his family and friends.
The Worrell family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
