Frederick Lee Phillips, Sr., 82, of Elliston, passed away Dec. 26, 2024.
He was born in Mercer, West Virginia, on April 4,1942 to the late Lovell Phillips and Lena Adkins Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Perdue Phillips; two sons, Frederick Lee Phillips, Jr. (Donna), and Jamie Frank Boston (Lisa); two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Jordan (O.J.), and Belinda Welcher; a brother, Wilmer Phillips (Barbara); and one sister, Sue Agee.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, Lovell and Lena Phillips; five brothers, Pete, Orville, Willard, Leslie, and Otis; and two sisters, Nancy and Geraldine.
He served in the Army. He worked at Green Hill Sausage Co. in Elliston until they closed, then worked at Medeco Security Locks Inc. in Salem, from which he retired.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life at Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church, 674 Alleghany Springs Rd., Shawsville on Jan. 25, 2025 from 4-6 p.m., followed by a brief ceremony officiated by his grandson, Brandon Welcher.
