Janet Hurt Minnick, 72, of Fairlawn, went to be with Jesus Monday, Dec. 30, 2024. She retired as administrative assistant with the J & D Courts in Pulaski County. She was a faithful member of Rockford Community Church for 72 years. She was very patriotic, loved God, country and family. She was Mom and Nana to many and her love will forever dwell in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley R. and Nellie Juanita Hurt; and son, Larry W. Minnick, Jr.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Larry W. Minnick; daughter, Jennifer Minnick Mattson and husband Mike; son, Rev. Duane Minnick and wife Amy; grandchildren, Cole, Morgan, Savannah, Lylah and Macy; great grandchildren, Trigg and Mallory and baby Mattson coming in February; brother and sister-in-law; Bobby and Teresa Hurt; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and the entire staff of Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital and Carilion Hospice for their care and compassion. They are truly angels on earth.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at Fairlawn Church of God with Rev. Ginny Tompkins officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. prior to the service.

Janet’s favorite color was red. In honor of her, please feel free to wear red or something patriotic.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Fairlawn Backpack Program, 65 Justin Lane, Christiansburg, VA 24073.

Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford is honored to be caring for the Minnick family.
