Art Exhibition and Reception to be held on Oct. 30

View and admire diverse pieces of artwork in the Montgomery Museum of Art & History’s collaborative “Museum Members’ Art Show,” hosted by Commonwealth Senior Living at Christiansburg.

Members of the public are invited to attend the opening reception of this special art exhibit Oct. 30, 6 – 8 p.m.

Made up of artworks created by museum members, this exhibit celebrates their talent and allows them a platform for the presentation of their art to the wider community. Through a partnership between the Montgomery Museum and Commonwealth Senior Living at Christiansburg, the exhibit is housed in the Living Library to bring fine art to both the public and Commonwealth’s residents.

Over 20 assorted artworks will be displayed in this special exhibition. Artists featured to date include Pamela Goff, Linda Hinson, Sue Hossack, Ruth Lefko, Sam Linkous, Judy Niehaus, Robi Sallee, Linda Smith, Donald Sunshine, Joanna Sunshine, and Mary Ratliff, with more to come. The exhibited artworks range widely in medium, subject, and style, allowing this wonderfully eclectic exhibition to truly highlight the diversity of artistic skills practiced by Montgomery Museum members. View the exhibition’s detailed portraits, landscapes and representations of nature, and abstract explorations of color and form, among many others. The collaboration between the Montgomery Museum and Commonwealth Senior Living at Christiansburg provides the opportunity to expand the reach and audience of this special Museum Members’ art exhibit.

The artwork displayed in this exhibit provides a new location for the display of local community creative culture and also contributes to an important cause. A 25% commission will be taken from all artwork sold and will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association at the request of Commonwealth Senior Living staff.

This art exhibit will run from October 30, 2024 – February 1, 2025, with the exhibit opening and reception taking place at 201 Wheatland Ct. NE, Christiansburg, VA 24073. For more information, visit https://www.montgomerymuseum.org/art-exhibit-list/membershow.
