MONTGOMERY CO- Sinkland Farms opened their award winning Sunflower Festival last weekend  and will be hosting it until Aug. 18, 2024 with sunflowers and activities for all to enjoy.

Sinkland Farm has over eight acres of sunflowers for all to enjoy. According to Sinkland Farms, this means there will be over 200,000 sunflower blooms for guests to see, pick and enjoy. Guests will need to purchase tickets, which grants them access to the festival and one sunflower per person per ticket. Guests are encouraged to purchase an additional flower for two dollars all the way up to 10 additional flowers for the price of 15 dollars. There are plenty of beautiful sunflowers for everyone to enjoy and get lost in the fields of flowers.

The flowers aren’t the only things at the Sunflower Festival, the event weekends will be packed with fun, food and music for guests of all ages. There is a kid zone for the pint-sized guests or the young at heart that includes a giant jump pad. There will be giant slides, ice cream, a petting zoo, pig races and pony rides. Live musical artists are hosted every weekend of the festival with popular musical artists such as Jimothy, performing on August 17.

Visitors can take pictures with their flowers or with the iconic love sculpture atop the hill or taste delicious food from the food trucks at the bottom of the hill. For the adults, there will be craft beers and wine. There will also be many local vendors to shop from on top of all the festivities and food available. Although many know Sinkland Farms for their annual Pumpkin Festival, their Sunflower Festival grows every year and brings the community out during the summer as well. With the Sunflower Festival being newer, it has already won awards like Most Unique Festival by Blue Ridge Outdoors in 2022, and has become a popular event in Montgomery County.
