The local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness has scheduled upcoming classes in the New River Valley.

The Family-to-Family (F2F) education program is a free nine-week course taught by trained facilitators who have family members with a mental illness. The course focuses on knowledge and skills to help family members cope more effectively with potential challenges. Family members can include parents, children, siblings, partners, as well as close friends who support people who have mental illness.

In the fall, 2024, the F2F class will be offered in Radford on Wednesdays in September and October (9/4/24 – 10/30/24) from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at Nineveh Lutheran Justice Ministry, 201 Harvey Street, Radford, VA.

This spring, an additional class will occur: Wednesday, March 5 to April 30 2025 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at Christiansburg Presbyterian Church, 107 West Main Street, Christiansburg.

Please contact naminrvva@gmail.com or 540-585-1627 to register. Please indicate which class you are interested in, and if applicable, the spring information will be sent to you for your consideration.
