RADFORD – The Radford City Police Department is offering tips to the public for preventing property and other types of crime this summer.
“As we welcome the first day of summer, the Radford City Police Department would like to remind everyone to stay safe and vigilant during the warm months ahead,” the department recently announced. “Remember, staying alert and taking preventive measures can go a long way in keeping our community secure. Have a wonderful and safe summer!”
Here are some essential crime prevention tips to keep you and your loved ones safe this summer:
- Lock doors and windows: Whether you’re at home or away, always lock your doors and windows. This simple step can deter opportunistic burglars.
- Secure your valuables: Don’t leave valuable items in plain sight, either in your home, car, or yard. Store them in secure locations.
- Be cautious with strangers: Be cautious when dealing with strangers at your door. Always ask for identification from service providers and don’t let unknown individuals into your home.
