Cheryl Kelley named to Dean’s List at University of Maryland
ADELPHI, Md.- Cheryl Kelley of Christiansburg was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2024 term at University of Maryland Global Campus. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.
Emily Barron named to Spring 2024 Chancellor’s Honor Roll at the University of Mississippi
UNIVERSITY, Miss.- Emily Barron, of Blacksburg, was named to the University of Mississippi’s Spring 2024 Honor Roll lists. Barron, majoring in Chinese, was named to the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00. “The remarkable students achieving Chancellor’s Honor Roll are among the best and brightest at the University of Mississippi,” Chancellor Glenn Boyce said. “I commend them for their hard work and dedication resulting in their outstanding academic achievements and this well-deserved recognition.” To be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.
Local Emerson College students earn Dean’s List for Spring 2024 semester

Midway University announces Spring 2024 Dean’s List
MIDWAY, Ky. – Midway University is pleased to announce the students who have been named to its Dean’s List for the 2024 Spring Semester. To be named to the list, a student must be classified as full-time and obtain a 3.60 grade point average for the semester. Shenandoah announces Dean’s List students for Spring 2024

Kathleen Mayer inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi
BATON ROUGE – Kathleen Mayer of Christiansburg was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Mayer was initiated at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. Mayer is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Nate Lehman named to EMU’s Spring 2024 Dean’s List

Cameron Earle receives bachelor’s degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute
WORCESTER, Mass. – On Friday, May 10, Blacksburg resident Cameron Earle, who majored in Robotics Engineering, was bestowed a bachelor’s degree at WPI’s 155th Commencement. Over 1,100 undergraduate degrees were awarded during the ceremony. President Grace J. Wang, PhD, and Board of Trustees Chair William Fitzgerald presided over the exercises. Wang told the graduates that in a changing world, where new technologies and industries are rapidly emerging, and where they could be doing jobs that have not yet been invented, they should dream boldly, persevere, be a team player, and enjoy the journey. “WPI has prepared you for this future,” Wang said. “During your time here, you have been immersed in a transformative, leading-edge, and inclusive environment to ready you for jobs, careers, and, also, exciting opportunities to come.”
Spencer Amacher earns Dean’s List recognition at Ohio Wesleyan University
