Radford residents Chris and Mason Bell were taking their dog for a walk Sunday afternoon when they came upon a brush fire on the hillside behind homes on Valley View Street. Chris called 911, then grabbed a nearby garden hose and began attempting to put the fire out until the Radford police and fire departments arrived on the scene. The fire department extinguished the blaze, which was in close proximity to homes on the street.
