Two of the area high schools will need athletic directors this coming fall.
Peter Lyell at Blacksburg and Tim Cromer at Christiansburg are both leaving.
Cromer was named head football coach this past month at Floyd County High School. He will leave his Christiansburg post at the end of the school year. A search committee has been conducting interviews for his replacement over the past two weeks. An announcement of the new A.D. is pending.
He took over as athletic director in 2017.
Meanwhile, Lyell, who has spent the past 10 years at Blacksburg, has stepped down effective at the end of this school year.
The Montgomery County school board has begun advertising the Blacksburg position with hopes of conducting interviews before the end of the school year.
Blacksburg is also seeking an assistant football coach, while both Christiansburg and Eastern Montgomery both need new volleyball coaches.
Lisa Dalton stepped away from the Christiansburg program at the end of this past season. Haley Duncan has done the same after three years at the helm at Eastern Montgomery.
Christiansburg is also in need of a varsity competition and sideline cheer coach.
