RADFORD – Radford City Public Schools has announced the four school level teachers named Teacher of the Year for 2024.

“Each school-based teacher winner was given a dozen roses and acknowledged in front of their students within the school where they work. The winners were selected by each faculty,” according to the announcement on the school division website (www.rcps.org). “Congratulations to the four outstanding teachers.”

The winning teachers are Radford High School social studies teacher John Ferguson, Dalton Intermediate School math teacher Tammy Dye, Belle Heth Elementary School fifth grade teacher Robin Hoosier and McHarg Elementary School first grade teacher Lindsay Lesko.

“These four teachers will now compete for the Radford Division Teacher of the Year,” the RCPS announcement continued. “Once this individual is named, after a committee interview in the near future, they will move forward to be considered in the statewide Teacher of the Year competition.”
