The Radford University men’s basketball program will face off against the Marshall Thundering Herd in a standalone neutral site game at The Greenbrier on Friday, Nov. 10 to launch a new long-term partnership between the resort and Intersport.
Now entering Head Coach Darris Nichols’ third season at Radford, the men’s basketball program is poised for another great year. Coming off a 21-win season that included a pair of victories in the CBI, the Highlanders bring back starters Bryan Antoine, DaQuan Smith and Justin Archer while adding reinforcements such as Chandler Turner (Bowling Green), Josiah Harris (St. Francis Brooklyn) and TJ NeSmith (Lenoir Rhyne).
Marshall will look to follow up a strong 2022-23 season in which it went 24-8 overall and 13-5 in the Sun Belt. The Thundering Herd ranked eighth in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 81.8 points per game, a figure that can be attributed in large part to incredible ball movement that ranked fifth in the country with 17.5 assists per contest. Leading scorers Taevion Kinsey (22.1 ppg) and Andrew Taylor (20.2 ppg) have both graduated however, leaving Head Coach Dan D’Antoni with some work to do heading into 2023-24.
