“The Thomas Jefferson Hour” appeals to Public Radio listeners nationwide, not just history buffs. The show’s appeal is its ability to bring out the truth in a non-dramatic, unthreatening manner and then to help the audience think through the complexity of the decision-making process, bringing clarity to the steps and the events. Jenkinson’s performances are always humorous, educational, thought provoking, and enlightening while maintaining a steady focus on ideas.

Jenkinson was recently featured as a narrator in Ken Burns’s documentary, “Benjamin Franklin.” For more than two decades, Jenkinson has hosted “The Thomas Jefferson Hour,” which is broadcast locally on Public Radio WVRU 89.9 FM in the New River Valley. Jenkinson’s presentations emphasize the Jeffersonian values of Civil Discourse, Critical Thinking, and Good Citizenship.
