Jimmy Wilson Gunter, 82, of Christiansburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 26, 2021. He was retired from Federal Mogul with over 30 years of service.
Jimmy was an avid sports fan, especially watching UVA football and basketbal, and NASCAR, as well as sitting on the porch watching the wildlife around him. He also loved music, particularly Elvis and Motown, playing the guitar, and watching Andy Griffith, game shows, and soap operas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nellie Gunter; one brother and five sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Gunter; a son, Jon (Kristin) Gunter; daughters Melissa Gunter, Kristi (Steven) Osborne, and Julie (Jeff) Sink; a stepson, Eric Burlingame; grandchildren Camden, Carrington, Joshua, Jakob, and Adam; brothers Paul Gunter and Sonny (Lora) Gunter; sisters Jeanetta (Frank) Reynolds, and Ollie Sue Morris; and many other relatives and friends.
The family received friends on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Faith Christian Church in Christiansburg, followed by funeral services with Pastor David Rhudy officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.
