Community Foundation accepting grant applications through Monday

The Community Foundation of the New River Valley is accepting applications for its 2020 Responsive Grant Program through 5 p.m. on Monday, July 27.

The Community Foundation of the New River Valley is a publicly supported, nonprofit organization classified as a 501c3 by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The foundation is confirmed to be in compliance with the Council on Foundation’s National Standards for Community Foundations, a prestigious designation demonstrating excellence in philanthropic practice.

The organization helps individuals, families and businesses create and sustain a vibrant, supportive community, now and for generations to come. The foundation matches donors’ unique interests, ideas and passions with the charitable organizations making a positive impact in our region every day.

The foundation’s Responsive Grant Program responds to ongoing and emergent community needs as recognized by the area nonprofits serving those needs directly. The 2020 Responsive Grant Program is offering general operating support grants of up to $4,000 to be used at the grantee’s discretion. Any registered 501c(3) organization serving the NRV or a unit of local government, such as a school or library, may apply.
