RADFORD – A man was arrested for driving under the influence early Friday morning after allegedly running his vehicle into a building at the corner of Tyler Avenue and Clement Street.

According to Radford Public Information coordinator Jenni Wilder, the Radford City Police Department “responded to the 300 block of Tyler Ave. for a motor vehicle accident on Oct. 25 at approximately 1:30 a.m.

“Upon arrival, officers found that a vehicle had struck the building (Moe’s Southwest Grill) and fled the scene,” said Wilder in a statement. “No injuries were sustained and the restaurant was not occupied at the time of the accident. Upon further investigation, officers were able to locate the suspect and vehicle in the 500 block of Fairfax Street.”

The driver was identified as Rodrigo Ernesto Cordova Dominguez, 21, of Radford. Dominguez was arrested for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of an accident, a felony. Dominguez is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail on a secure bond.
