RADFORD – The Radford Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for their annual awards, recognizing businesses, individuals and non-profit outreach organizations in the city.
“We’re excited to have the privilege of honoring some of our outstanding Chamber members and community leaders,”said Chamber Executive Director Ciara Harris. “The recipients of the awards will be named at the Annual Gala this December. The Radford Chamber invites the community to submit nominations for this year’s awards as a way to recognize and celebrate outstanding Chamber members and leaders within the Radford community. These businesses big and small, community volunteers and leaders help with the Chamber’s mission – to support business vitality in the heart of the NRV.”
During the program the Radford Chamber will present the following awards:
Business Person of the Year Award: This award recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of a business owner or employee that has succeeded through innovation, risk-taking and a commitment to the community, and/or achieved success through introducing new products/services or growing an existing product/service through a new approach. Nominees must be current Radford Chamber of Commerce members.
Business of the Year Award: Recognizes a business that has been operational for at least one year, has 11 or more employees, and has demonstrated professional integrity, financial stability, excellence in customer service, success through innovation, and commitment to the community.
Small Business of the Year Award: Recognizes a business that has been operational for at least one year, has between 1 and 10 employees, and has demonstrated professional integrity, financial stability, excellence in customer service, success through innovation, and a commitment to the community.
Non-Profit Organization of the Year Award: This award recognizes a registered non-profit organization which has been operational for at least one year, and has made an outstanding contribution to the social, cultural or economic well-being of the greater Radford City and surrounding areas while exhibiting stability, maintaining a good relationship with its volunteers, and demonstrating best business practices. Nominees for Non-Profit of the Year are not limited to Radford Chamber members.
Volunteer/Community Service of the Year Award: Persons being nominated for this award will have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion, and service to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities in one year. The charitable activities/events or service listed on the application cannot be part of the nominee’s job description or duties and the individual cannot receive any monetary or personal
benefits from their involvement. Nominees for Volunteer of the Year are not limited to Radford Chamber members.
