Fred Lewis Smith, 82, of Christiansburg went to his heavenly home Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Montgomery County on Dec. 4, 1936 to the late Pearlie and Easter Smith.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, a brother, and a grandson. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eula Pauline Smith, daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Love, Arnita and Steve Stallard, Ramona and Tony Huff, Rita McCall, Geneva Basham and Jimmie, sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Sallie Smith, Daryl and Joanne Smith, twenty grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sisters, Tiny Dowdy, Sue Caldwell, brothers, Eugene Smith, Carey Smith. Funeral Services were conducted Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Intrepid Hospice, 101 W. Main Street, Radford, VA 24141. The family received friends Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
