Mason Douglas Cole, Jr., 92, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at his home in Radford. Born on Aug. 7, 1926, he was a U. S. Navy veteran having served during WWII, and a retired from the U. S. Dept of Defense where he was a programmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mason, Sr. and Bertha Quesenberry Cole; his wife, Velma B. Cole; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Mason D. Cole, III (Kimberly) of Richmond, and Norman Mark Cole of Radford; daughter and son-in-law, Christine Cole Jenkins (Michael) of Dublin; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Dickerson, Mary L. Schwarzer, John W. Lancaster, II, Jason Cole, Patrick Cole, Mason D. Cole IV, and Brandon M. Cole; great grandchildren, Brady and Taylor Dickerson, Gavin Lancaster, and Lyric and Ethan Cole; great great grandson, Tanner Griggs; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Interment with full military honors will follow at 12 p.m. in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
