Charlotte Whittaker Hale, 80, of Blacksburg, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery.
She was born in Montgomery County, VA on February 9, 1938 to the late Mark, Sr. and Rushia Carleen Doss Whittaker. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Jean Hale, brothers, Douglas Whittaker, Robert (Frog) Whittaker, Mark (Dick) Whittaker, Jr.; sisters, Louise W. Cook, Dorothy (Dot) W. Smith, Kathleen W. Grubb. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gene Hale; daughters and son-in-law,, Terri Hale, Robin and Greg McCoy; her son, Ricky Hale; a granddaughter, Danielle Hurt and husband, Russell; two great-grandchildren, Houston Ryder and Cooper McCoy Hurt; special friends, Betty Whitlock, Carol Roop, Christine Webb, Shirley Hale.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 11, 2019 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. David Williams officiating. Interment followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
