The Intellectual Disabilities Agency of the New River Valley hosts its 21st “Swing Fore Persons with Intellectual Disabilities” Annual Golf Classic, Monday Aug. 13 at the Blacksburg Country Club (1064 Clubhouse Rd, Blacksburg).
Prizes, hole sponsors, and teams are still welcome.
With check-in at noon and a 1 p.m. tee-off, it’s a shotgun start. The 75$ per player fundraiser includes lunch hosted by the Christiansburg Kiwanis Club.

Community-based and funded by United Way and local donations, IDA serves children and adults in the NRV and provides inclusive social, recreational, and educational activities, and advocacy.

Fundraisers like this long-running golf tournament supports IDA events and opportunities throughout the year that help people with intellectual disabilities experience a balanced life.
IDA programs and activities help people increase self-esteem and confidence, socialize, exercise, and practice appropriate social skills.
