Naomi Allen Shaver, age 93, of Blacksburg died, Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017. She was born in Blacksburg, Virginia on Sept. 4, 1924 to the late Albert Minor and Annie Bell Allen.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Cloyd Shaver; a grandson, Brett Quarterman, sisters and brothers. She was a longtime member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Jeff Raines of Blacksburg, and Judy Mattox of Blacksburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Lester C. and Lourie Shaver of Blacksburg, David A. and Cheryl Shaver of Wytheville, William H. “Butch” Quarterman, III of Christiansburg, and Richard “Buddy” and Peggy Quarterman of Blacksburg; sisters-in-law, Pat Shaver Schaub and Dora Allen Taylor; grandchildren, Amy Whitaker, Liane Juza, Susan Richardson, Shane Mattox, Dean Raines, Paula Raines, Tabatha Shaver Thomas, and Matthew Shaver; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Continuous Care and its staff, Dr. Sowinski, and Good Samaritan Hospice.
Funeral Services were conducted on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kent Lewis officiating. Interment followed in the Westview Cemetery. The family received friends at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. S.W. Blacksburg, VA 24060.
