The 1A spring championships are history, and an estimated 2,000 people visited the New River Valley as Radford served as the host school and community for another year.
Radford High School won their second straight girls tennis team title during the Spring Jubilee held last week on the RU campus.

The jubilee, as it is commonly called, was kind to the hosts as they won one team title and two individual ones in girls’ tennis. Logan Graham was the state champion for individual play, and then teamed with Mallory Wood for the doubles title. The two would also lead Radford to the team title 24 hours later.
The Radford boys’ soccer team fell short and ended up the bride’s maid in play on Saturday as they lost to Galax in a shootout.
Also, Auburn claimed the boys’ 1A baseball belt with a win over Stonewall Jackson.
Radford and Radford University’s contract to host the Spring Jubilee stretches for one more year, but organizers plan to bid on the event for the next three years.
Robert Lineburg, the athletic director at Radford University, said the event enables the community and school to introduce itself to a lot of new people. He is optimistic the Virginia High School League will extend their relationship with Radford in the future.
