Radford University participants in the Martin Luther King “Day of Service” worked at Radford’s Fairlawn Daily Bread Monday, serving meals to regular attendees at the luncheon activities.

The event was the idea of past university president Penny Kyle, and is an annual way for students and faculty to be involved in community service. Those interested in participating sign up on line and the organizers place them in groups appropriate to the citizen groups they will service, according to Burton.
“RU encourages faculty and students to participate,” he said.
