Jodi Gray Boland, 29, of Dublin, passed away at LewisGale-Pulaski Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016. She was born on Nov. 20, 1987 in Radford.
Jodi was a 2006 graduate of Christiansburg High School and New River Community College in 2012. She was a sales associate at Walmart in Dublin and previously at Food Lion in Christiansburg.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Drema and Bruce Sarver; her father and step-mother, Craig and Kim Boland; her grandmother and step-grandfather, Linda and Robert Maxwell; her step-grandparents, Richard and Phyllis Aliff; her step-grandmother, Betty Long; her step-sister, Kayla Sarver; her long-time love and companion, Fred Davis; her aunts and uncles, Jon Albert; Lynn and Rita Boland; Jimmy Thompson; Ann and Kenny Owens; David and Joan Thompson; as well as many beloved cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James “Cotton” Thompson; her paternal grandparents, Felix and Geraldine Boland; her step-grandfather, Kenneth Long; and her aunts and uncle, Nyoka Albert and Karen and Mike Cupp.
To quote Jodi’s cousin, Josh Bowden, “God decided he needed to call home one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met. The world lost the most infectious smile and kindest heart. Today we lost a very special person who is near and dear to all of us. You left this world a better place than you found it.”
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday Jan. 4, 2017 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford.
The funeral service was conducted on Thursday Jan. 5, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Rockford Methodist Church with the Reverend Mike Bond officiating. Interment followed at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
DeVilbiss Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
