Radford police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning that left one person injured. According to reports, police responded to a 911 call at the 100 block of PT Travis Avenue around 1 a.m. for a subject reportedly beating on the windows and possibly trying to gain entrance into the residence.
While en route officers were advised that multiple shots had been fired at the suspect from a person at the residence. The victim was gone upon the officer’s arrival but later appeared at a local hospital for treatment for gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as 42-year-old Lee Warren Green Jr. formerly of Radford. Green was familiar with the residents of the house on PT Travis Avenue.
Green is listed to be in critical condition, and the case remains under investigation.
The identities of the other parties involved are not being released at this time.
Radford police are also seeking the public’s help in a possible sexual assault that took place Saturday morning. At approximately 1:20 a.m., a 19-year-old female reported that she was walking alone in the alley behind 1100 Calhoun St. and was approached by a young black male.
The victim said that the suspect covered her mouth, pulled the front of her dress down and grabbed her breast. The victim was able to fight off the offender, scream and run away.
The offender is described as a slender built black male, clean-shaven last seen wearing dark colored jeans, a dark shirt and approximately 5’8” tall. He is between 18-20 years and with short dark hair. He possibly ran in the direction of First Avenue.
