Radford Athletics has announced the creation of Radford Legends, a new men’s basketball alumni program established to reconnect former student-athletes, coaches, staff members and supporters who have helped shape the history and success of Radford Men’s Basketball. Radford Legends is an alumni-led initiative created to strengthen connections among former members of the program while fostering opportunities to support current and future Highlanders. The organization will work collaboratively with Radford University, Radford Athletics and the men’s basketball program to engage alumni through meaningful networking, mentorship and community-building opportunities. Designed to unite generations of Highlanders, Radford Legends welcomes all individuals who contributed to the program throughout its history, including former student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, managers, administrators, support staff and dedicated supporters. The program’s mission is centered on reconnecting alumni, celebrating the shared experiences that define Radford Basketball and creating opportunities to positively impact the future of the program. “Radford Men’s Basketball has been built by generations of people who invested their time, passion and commitment into the program,” said Tom Gallaher, Class of 1993 and Program Lead for Radford Legends. “This initiative provides a way for those individuals to reconnect, support one another and continue contributing to the success of Radford Basketball for years to come.” Through Radford Legends, alumni will have opportunities to reconnect across eras, build relationships with fellow Highlanders and serve as mentors and advocates for current student-athletes. The program also aims to create a lasting network that strengthens the men’s basketball program through engagement, support and shared pride in Radford University.
