Allison Franklin of Pulaski won the challenge contest at the Radford Photo Club September meeting with a photo taken with her Nikon D3500 camera of a “sweet” highland cow at the Beaver Dam Sunflower Farm.
Joseph Pack of Fairlawn won the open category with a photo of a pair of monarch butterflies.
“They kept hanging together for a perfect pose,” he said.
The next club meeting will be Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Radford Public Library at 6 p.m. Deborah Ring of Radford will present photos taken in Costa Rica, including many photos of birds.
The challenge will be fall colors. An outing to Pandapas Pond is planned to capture fall colors.

The club includes photographers of all experience levels from throughout the New River Valley. Club officers are Allison Franklin of Pulaski, Tracy Burlingame of Riner, and Chuck Lynch of Christiansburg.
